Ballet Black Junior School Teachers

The Ballet Black Junior School welcomes expressions of interest from new teachers!

The BB Junior School was founded in 2002 in Shepherd’s Bush and started with five students from a local nursery group. It has now grown to include three locations – our original home in Shepherd’s Bush, Hammersmith and East London, offering 27 classes per week to over 200 students.

The goal of our School is to provide excellent ballet training by teachers of different cultural backgrounds for our diverse student body. The age range of our School is 3, all the way up to Adult Beginners. We also run a Junior Associate Programme for teenage girls and young women aged 12-18 years to focus on supporting those students audition for professional vocational training.

We are seeking expressions of interest from  ballet teachers in all our locations, which include every Saturday during term time. This students have a range of ages from Primary/Grade 1 up to Junior Associates Level 1 (Intermediate level), including pointe work coaching.

Candidates should:

  • Hold a valid teaching certification (RAD/ISTD preferred)
  • Have at least two years of teaching experience
  • Have an up-to-date DBS certificate
  • Be able to plan, create and execute free classes according to Ballet Black’s class guidelines
  • Be able to prepare students for examinations/assessments as appropriate
  • Be able to create choreography for our annual School performance/display
  • Be available to teach during term time at our Marylebone location
  • Hold valid insurance

Terms

  • Freelance (term dates issued as early as possible each year)
  • Pay is £30 per hour but can increase depending on experience

Hours

  • Approximately 09:30-15:30 (Saturday’s but vary between locations)
