⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow! What a show! Ballet Black is an incredible dance show, with ballet being the main focus, the choreographer, Mthuthuzeli November, had incorporated contemporary, modern and some commercial and jazz into the different numbers.

Each piece was dramatic and empowering yet all so different from one another- this kept the audience engaged throughout the whole show. From the moment the dancers stepped on stage, I felt inspired. Every single dancer was so strong and you could see the effort that had gone into the training and organisation of the show. The sound and lighting was also outstanding (specifically in the final piece- wow!).

The way the director incorporated vocal sounds and moments of silence into the soundtrack really set the tone and mood and the way choreographer reflected this within the moves was amazing. I highly recommend going to see Ballet Black. It’s unique, contemporary and addresses modern day issues, humorous, yet at points sad, empowering and inspiring to all. Overall, it was an outstanding performance.
